CONFERENCE INFORMATION

13th Annual High Plains Conference
August 27-28, 2009
North Platte, Nebraska


The 13th Annual High Plains Conference (13HPC) will be held in North Platte, Nebraska on August 27-28, 2009.  The conference is sponsored by a joint session of the High Plains Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the High Plains Chapter of the National Weather Association.  The National Weather Service Office in North Platte, NE is organizing this year's event.

Conference Location

The conference will be held at the Mid-Plains Community College (North Campus) in North Platte, NE.

Call For Papers

The abstract submission deadline has passed (July 15) and abstracts are no longer being accepted.

Registration

Registration for this year’s conference is $65.00, which includes lunch on Thursday.  Student registration (undergraduate and graduate) is $30.00.  The cost of the Thursday evening banquet is an extra $20.00 per person.  On-line registration is due by August 19.

Sessions

Sessions will begin Thursday morning, August 27, and likely run through noon on Friday, August 28.  Papers submitted for presentation at the High Plains Conference should focus on weather events that impact the High Plains; severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, temperature extremes, drought, dust storms, flash flooding, high wind events and winter weather.  Topics from both the research and the operational communities are welcome.
