8th Annual High Plains AMS/NWA Conference

Call for Papers and Conference Information 

This year's conference will begin Wednesday afternoon, October 13th, and conclude around Noon on Friday, October 15th.  The conference will be held in the Murray Center on the campus of Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, Kansas.  The conference banquet will be Wednesday evening, October 13th at 7 pm at the Howard Johnson Hotel.

CONFERENCE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
* Nolan Doesken, Assistant State Climatologist, Colorado State University, Colorado Climate Center
* Doug Kluck, NWS Central Region Headquarters Climate Services Division
* Greg Stumpf, Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorology Studies, NWS Meteorological Development Laboratory
* Ron Holle, Meteorologist/Consultant, Vaisala Inc.

The conference will feature a student paper competition, open to undergraduate and graduate students.  A total of three scholarships will be awarded, with the First Place winner receiving $500 and a one year chapter membership, Second Place $250, and Third Place $100.

- Affiliation/School
- City, State
- Payment method (PayPal, At door, via mail -- also specify if you are a student)
- Whether you will be attending the conference banquet (additional $15)

New registrants are still welcome.  We appreciate your assistance and apologize for the registration inconvenience.

Regular registration is $50, although student registration (undergrad or graduate) is $25. The registration fee includes both lunch and dinner on Thursday. The conference banquet Wednesday evening is an additional $15.

Registration fees may be paid one of three ways:
1)  PayPal Online Payment - we're proud to now accept online payments to make things a little easier
2) Payment in Person - please make checks payable to "High Plains Chapter AMS-NWA" and bring the check with you
3) Checks may be mailed in advance to chapter treasurer David Lawrence at the following address (please enclose a copy of your registration)
